From preschool to Ph.D. programs, there is something for everyone in our community. We take pride in the accomplishments of our students and constantly look for innovative ways to expand their academic opportunities.
The Fairborn City Schools offer outstanding education with excellent student programs and activities. The district provides education PreK-12. The district has music, foreign language, advanced placement and honors courses. The district has an outstanding Gifted program for grades 3-12. The district has free all-day kindergarten at the Fairborn Primary. This outstanding program has proven results and our kindergarten students are well-prepared for the future. Fairborn is an innovative district – with STEM Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programming at Baker Middle School and Fairborn High School. Looking to the future, Fairborn actively pursued these classes including: Biomedical Science, Engineering 101, and Project Lead the Way curriculum. The jobs of the future take hold in our middle and high school classrooms.
Graduates from Fairborn High School include many National Merit scholars. Our senior classes have been awarded over $2 million in college scholarships and attend institutions throughout the United States. Co-curricular programs at Fairborn High School help ensure a well-rounded educational experience. From football to French Club, students will find a special place that sparks their interest and enriches their academic experience. Fairborn High School’s ROTC is one of the top programs in the State of Ohio.
The Fairborn City Schools teaching staff is the best in the Miami Valley. Fairborn has 24 National Board Certified Teachers. National Board Certification is the highest credential in the teaching profession. Certification is achieved through a rigorous, performance-based assessment that typically takes more than a year to complete. Teachers who earn this advanced teaching credential are among the best qualified in the nation to raise student achievement and improve instruction and teaching practices in their classrooms, schools and districts. We are proud to have these outstanding educators in our district.
The Greene County Career Center serves students from the seven public school districts in Greene County plus those who attend private and parochial schools. Home-schooled students are also able to find success through the Career Center’s many career pathways. Today GCCC offers career-technical programs for high school juniors and seniors at the main campus located on West Enon Road near Xenia and also at various high schools in the county. They also offer Equine Science and Veterinary Science at the Agricultural Research Center on Brush Row Road. Additionally, the Career Center provides programming in many of the same county high schools in areas like Biotechnology, Family and Consumer Science, Engineering, Marketing, Veterinary Science, Equine Studies, Career-Based Intervention and Agricultural Science and Business.
Fairborn is home to Wright State University that offers more than 100 undergraduate and 40 graduate degree programs. There is a wide range of post high school education opportunities within 25 miles of Fairborn that include four year, two year as well as training and certificate programs that include the University of Dayton, Air Force Institute of Technology, Antioch College, Cedarville University, Central State University, Clark State University, Wilberforce University and Hondros College to name a few.
Community support and collaboration with local businesses and organizations helps create a learning environment that is supportive, intellectually challenging and relevant to real-world experiences. This is one of the hallmarks of the educational opportunities in Fairborn, given our proximity to some of the most cutting-edge research and business firms around. Strong educational partnerships have also been established with Wright State University and Wright-Patterson Air Force base.

Fairborn Primary School (grades Pre-K-2), Fairborn Intermediate School (grades 3-5), Baker Middle School (grades 6-8) and Fairborn High School (grades 9-12) offer students a well-rounded educational experience. From special education, gifted programs, advanced placement and honors curriculum, Fairborn has a differentiated approach to meet all student needs. Fairborn also sponsors the Fairborn Digital Academy for online learning.
Fairborn High School, with a broad and rigorous curriculum Fairborn High School prepares students for both college and the work force. FHS is accredited by the North Center Association of Secondary Schools and offers Advanced Placement, Honors and Post-Secondary Enrollment Option. Additionally, FHS offers Project Lead the Way curriculum and Dual Enrollment for interested students.

Baker Middle School offers Project Lead the Way Science, Technology, Engineering and Math curriculum, gifted courses and an outstanding art program. Baker Middle School also has an award-winning Media Production curriculum which teaches students video, power point, graphics and Photoshop.

Fairborn Intermediate School offers core curriculum to the community’s fourth and fifth grade students. Students participate in DARE programming and graduation, the Principal’s Reading Challenge, and are involved in many community service projects as part of their educational experience. Fifth grade students have the opportunity to visit STARBASE, a premier educational program, sponsored by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. At DoD STARBASE students participate in challenging “hands-on, mind-on” activities in aviation, science, technology, engineering, math, and space exploration. They interact with military personnel to explore careers and make connections with the “real world.” Students also learn teamwork, goal setting, and the importance of staying off drugs.

Fairborn Primary School, The mission at Fairborn Primary School focuses on nurturing the whole child – his mind, his emotional and social growth, physical wellness, and his love for lifelong learning. Fairborn Primary School strives to offer the best possible environment for all children and appreciate the giftedness of every child. Every single person on our staff, from our administrators to our bus drivers, secretaries, and custodians, work as team members with teachers to support the school’s educational goals.
